Jazz

Jazz dance is an energetic and expressive style that combines technique, rhythm, musicality, and performance. Dancers learn a variety of movements including kicks, turns, leaps, isolations, and dynamic choreography set to upbeat music.

In this class, students focus on building and strengthening their jazz technique through proper alignment, flexibility, coordination, and strength training. Dancers will develop confidence, artistry, and performance quality while continuing to improve their technical skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Please note: This is a non-recital class and does not participate in the annual recital performance.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a high-energy dance style that emphasizes rhythm, musicality, creativity, and self-expression. Dancers learn age-appropriate hip hop techniques and movements while exploring a variety of styles and choreography set to hip hop music.

In this class, students build and strengthen their technique through coordination, body control, strength, and performance skills. Dancers will develop confidence, stage presence, and a strong sense of rhythm in a fun, encouraging, and engaging environment. We also encourage an appreciation for the culture and history of hip hop, helping students understand and respect the art form's origins and influence on dance and music today.

Please note: This is a recital class, and students will perform a choreographed routine in the annual recital.

Contemporary 

Contemporary dance is a versatile and expressive style that blends elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance. It encourages dancers to explore movement through artistry, emotion, musicality, storytelling, and self-expression while developing both technical and creative skills.

In this class, students build and strengthen their technique through exercises that focus on strength, balance, control, and fluidity of movement. Dancers will learn to connect technique with storytelling and self-expression, developing confidence, artistry, and performance quality in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Please note: This is a recital class, and students will perform a choreographed routine in the annual recital.

Choreography/improv

This class is designed for dancers who want to deepen their understanding of movement creation and artistic expression. Structured similarly to a college-level dance course, students will receive creative assignments and projects that challenge them to think critically, explore new ideas, and develop their own choreographic voice.

Dancers will learn the fundamentals of choreography, including creating movement phrases, developing concepts, working with music, and choreographing both on themselves and for other dancers. Students will also explore improvisation techniques that encourage creativity, adaptability, confidence, and personal expression.

This class is an excellent opportunity for dancers looking to strengthen their artistry and expand their skills beyond technique. It is especially beneficial for those interested in pursuing dance in high school, college, or as part of their future career goals.

Ballet, pointe, & pre pointe

Ballet is the foundation of many dance styles and focuses on developing strength, control, balance, coordination, musicality, and artistry. Through barre exercises, center work, and across-the-floor progressions, dancers build a strong technical foundation while refining movement quality and performance skills.

Pre-Pointe and Pointe classes provide additional training for dancers who are preparing for or currently dancing en pointe. These classes focus on strengthening the feet, ankles, legs, and core while developing the technique, stability, and control necessary for safe and successful pointe work. Placement in Pre-Pointe and Pointe is based on a dancer's technical readiness and instructor recommendation.

Ballet training supports growth in all areas of dance and is essential for dancers looking to strengthen their technique and artistry. Level 2 and above Ballet Technique classes are 1.5 hours in length, allowing for more in-depth technical training and development.

Please note: Ballet Technique, Pre-Pointe, and Pointe are non-recital classes and do not participate in the annual recital performance.

Fusion

Fusion is an exciting class that blends the energy and dynamics of hip hop with the artistry and expression of contemporary dance. Dancers explore movement from both styles while learning how to seamlessly combine technique, creativity, and performance.

In this class, students focus on developing movement quality, musicality, coordination, and versatility. Dancers will learn to interpret music in different ways, explore a variety of movement textures and dynamics, and build confidence through expressive and engaging choreography.

Fusion is a great class for dancers looking to expand their movement vocabulary, strengthen their performance skills, and experience the best of both hip hop and contemporary dance styles.

Turns & Leaps

Turns & Leaps is an introductory jazz class designed for dancers who are new to jazz or looking to build a strong technical foundation. This class focuses on the fundamental skills and techniques needed for jazz dance, making it the perfect starting point for beginners.

Students will learn proper technique for basic turns, leaps, jumps, and traveling movements while developing coordination, strength, balance, and body control. Dancers will also be introduced to jazz terminology, musicality, and performance skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Turns & Leaps is a great way for dancers to gain confidence, improve their technique, and prepare for more advanced jazz training.

itty bitty & k-2nd classes

Our Itty Bitty and K–2nd classes introduce young dancers to the exciting world of dance in a fun, creative, and age-appropriate environment. Each class is designed to build a strong foundation while keeping dancers engaged through imagination, music, and movement.

Students will explore the basics of each style, including ballet technique and terminology, jazz rhythm and coordination, tap sounds and timing, and hip hop movement and musicality. Classes focus on developing motor skills, listening skills, coordination, balance, and confidence while encouraging creativity and self-expression.

Most importantly, dancers learn in a positive and supportive atmosphere where they can grow their love for dance, make new friends, and build confidence in their abilities.

Contemporary Ballet

Contemporary Ballet blends the strong foundation and technique of classical ballet with the expressive movement quality and freedom of contemporary dance. This class encourages dancers to explore artistry, musicality, and storytelling while maintaining a strong technical base.

Students will work on ballet technique, strength, control, balance, and fluidity, while also incorporating contemporary movement styles that emphasize expression, dynamics, and creative movement choices. Dancers will learn how to connect precision with emotion to create powerful and engaging performances.

This class is ideal for dancers looking to deepen their ballet training while expanding their versatility and artistic expression in a supportive and inspiring environment.

adult beginner classes

Our Adult Beginner classes are designed for dancers with little to no prior experience who want to explore movement in a welcoming and supportive environment. We currently offer both Adult Hip Hop and Adult Contemporary, giving adults the opportunity to choose the style that best fits their interests.

Adult Hip Hop focuses on rhythm, coordination, musicality, and foundational hip hop movement set to upbeat, popular music. Adult Contemporary blends elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance, emphasizing expression, fluidity, and storytelling through movement.

Both classes are structured to build confidence, improve coordination, and develop basic technique at a comfortable pace. Dancers are encouraged to move at their own level while enjoying the physical and mental benefits of dance in a fun, no-pressure setting.

Acro

Acro dance combines classical dance technique with acrobatic elements such as strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and controlled tricks. This class focuses on safely building the skills needed to seamlessly integrate acrobatic movement into dance choreography.

Students will work on progressions that develop strength, flexibility, limbering, balancing skills, and foundational acro tricks, all while maintaining proper technique and control. Emphasis is placed on safe execution, body awareness, and smooth transitions between dance and acrobatic movement.

Dancers will gain confidence as they improve their overall athleticism, control, and performance quality in a supportive and structured environment.

Tap

Tap dance is a rhythmic and energetic style that focuses on creating percussive sounds with the feet. Dancers learn how to use timing, coordination, and musicality to turn movement into rhythm and sound.

In this class, students build a strong foundation in tap technique while learning fundamental steps, combinations, and patterns. Emphasis is placed on clarity of sound, rhythm, coordination, and developing a strong sense of musicality in a fun and engaging environment.

Dancers will gain confidence as they improve their timing, coordination, and performance skills while exploring the creative and expressive side of tap dance.
